Before switching to vapes, I smoked traditional cigarettes, one and a half to two packs a day. I constantly smelled of tobacco, but I wasn't even aware of it. I had a persistent sore throat and phlegm buildup, always feeling like something was stuck in my throat, blocking my airway. This led to constant coughing and spitting up phlegm, especially in the cold, dry winters of the north. After smoking, I felt very dry, drank a lot of tea to moisten my throat, and coughed incessantly. Spring and autumn were better, but I finally decided to quit smoking and started with vapes and e-liquids.
I began with the Nautilus vape stick, which cost about 1000 yuan at the time. I used it for a long time, carrying a small bottle of e-liquid and the stick in my backpack. Gradually, I reduced my consumption of traditional cigarettes. My best record was reducing from a pack and a half a day to one pack every ten days. I completely quit when I started using the Yuoke vape with pre-filled pods. The Yuoke vape initially had fruit flavors, which were sweet and lacked the tobacco taste. For a heavy smoker, the most significant thing was the 3mg nicotine content, providing a strong throat hit. After getting used to the fruit flavors, traditional cigarettes tasted terrible, and the tobacco smell was unbearable. For the first time, my sense of smell improved to the point where I could smell someone lighting a cigarette from far away. From the beginning of 2018, I quit completely by 2019. Now in 2023, I can say the benefits are clear: cleanliness, no ash in the car or on my body, no unpleasant smell on my clothes, and no more coughing up phlegm. The improvement in my respiratory system is noticeable.
I've been pondering this issue too. Tobacco combustion produces a lot of toxic gases, while vapes contain nicotine, glycerin, flavors, and other unknown substances. Comparing the two, the pros and cons are evident.
Currently, Yuoke has shifted from fruit flavors to tobacco flavors. I've quit traditional cigarettes, but vapes have taken their place. I'm now wondering when I can quit vapes entirely, as that would be the ultimate achievement.
