I came back from drinking around 1:00 AM, filled up my vape, and stayed up for a bit longer before finally falling asleep around 2:30 AM.
When I got up at 5:10, I had no desire to smoke a cigarette at all. In the past, I would always take a cigarette and lighter with me to the bathroom. If I went in and realized I didn't have them, I would definitely come back out to get them, smoke, and then go back in.
At 5:40, I took a ride to work, less than 100 kilometers from home. Back when I smoked cigarettes, I would have had at least two by this time—one in the bathroom and another when going downstairs. Today, I didn't feel like smoking at all.
Around 7:00, just before getting off the highway, I took my first puff of the day.
At noon, my boss gave me a cigarette, and it was one of those situations where I couldn't refuse. I told him I wasn't quitting smoking but trying to find an alternative. I said I could occasionally have a cigarette and that he shouldn't feel smug about tempting me. The boss just stood there watching me smoke, laughing. After taking a puff, I felt it was harsh and not as good as before. To put it this way, if I get a craving, I would definitely prefer a hit from my vape over a cigarette.
